FIGHT FOR A CAUSE 2026 — WHAT A NIGHT!
On Sunday, September 27, the Fortitude community took over The Tivoli for Fight For A Cause 2026, bringing together our members, professional fighters, coaches, families and supporters for an incredible afternoon of boxing.
At the heart of the event were our Fight For A Cause participants, who spent weeks training, learning and pushing themselves completely outside their comfort zones before finally stepping through the ropes. For many, it was their first ever fight, and every single person who got into that ring should be incredibly proud.
The professional card gave the crowd plenty to cheer about too.
“Princess” Leah Reuben put on a huge performance against Thailand’s Khwunchit Khunya, securing a third-round TKO victory in their scheduled eight-round bout. The win continued a brilliant run of form for Leah and gave the Fortitude crowd another reason to get on their feet.
Young gun Theo Thompson also continued his perfect start to professional boxing, defeating Uten Chanavon over four rounds and moving his professional record to 2–0. At just 18 years old, there is plenty more to come from Theo.
Ryan Davidson kept his undefeated record intact with another big win, defeating Fiji’s Apisa Naciqa in the second round and moving to 3–0 as a professional.
Cody “The Outlaw” Renouf went four hard rounds with Scottie Williams, with the pair ultimately fighting to a draw in their super welterweight contest. The result moves Cody’s professional record to 2–0–1.
A huge highlight of the night came from Davin Ramage, who claimed the win to become the new Australasian Masters Light Heavyweight Champion.
At 54 years old, Davin is one of the most familiar faces in the gym, showing up consistently, putting in the work and proving that age is absolutely no barrier to competing at a high level. A true leader within Fortitude’s Masters pathway, Davin’s title win was an incredibly proud moment for the whole Fortitude family.
We could not be prouder of you, Davin.
This year's event was held in support of the Fortitude Amateur Boxing Team, helping raise funds towards the travel costs involved in representing Queensland and Australia on the national and international stage.
To every fighter who stepped into the ring, every coach who got them there, every volunteer who kept the day moving, every sponsor who backed the event and every person who packed into The Tivoli to support them — thank you.
We could not be prouder of what the Fortitude community created.
And if you were sitting in the crowd thinking, I reckon I could do that… Now is your chance!
